Objectives
The Charity’s objectives are:
To relieve poverty and advance education of deprived people from
Developing Countries and refugees from Developing Countries, whose
needs may not be covered by other agencies and those with whom Franciscans are in contact whose needs are known, so that they can
be aided quickly and precisely.
Ways we achieve our Objectives:
Applications are considered individually by the Trustees. However, the following are not normally supported by Franciscan Aid.
- FA does not undertake to pay school fees or fees for tertiary education or accommodation for education.
- FA does not pay for building, but may contribute towards restoration / repair works
- FA does not normally buy land
- FA does not pay for transport
- FA does not pay salaries
- FA does not fund families or individuals with on-going needs
- FA does not fund assistance during or after major disasters
- Funds are not given to Franciscans and their dependents for the personal benefit of Franciscans or their dependants.
Please note:
Franciscan Aid is committed to encouraging projects to ensure that all vulnerable groups of people are protected and supported in accordance with the commitment of the Anglican (Episcopal) Church Worldwide.
We are concerned that all people who are supported by our grant aid, especially children, and vulnerable adults, are treated with respect and actively protected from abusive behaviour of any kind.
Please check with your local Diocese and the Country in which you work for what their requirements are, and ensure you comply with them.
Thank you for looking after those you are supporting, through caring for those in need.
- All applications must be sponsored by an Anglican Franciscan who is in a position to monitor the progress and inform the Trustees. Companions may sponsor a project if they are supported by a first Order member.
- Repeated grants to the same organisation should be at the discretion of the Trustees.
